Stiff training shoes

Hey guys, I’m an experienced climber looking for a pair of stiff training shoes for the gym. I’m currently dealing with a foot injury (sesamoiditis) and the traditional softer bouldering shoes are a bit too sensitive. I was wondering if anyone had recommendations of stiffer shoes for training that don’t break the bank but also aren’t novice level shoes that will fall apart in a month.

Thanks

Drone 2.0 from mad rock: incredibly stiff, good shoe for gym climbing (currently my outdoor bouldering shoe too fwiw)

The Unparallel TN pro are a very stiff shoe with a fairly neutral shape that shouldn't irritate things. They are flat though so not particularly suitable for steep bouldering.

Am I the only one who thinks the Otaki is stiff?

this - 100%. Scarpa helix is also flat lasted I think.

flat and probably one of the stiffest shoes around would be the butora mantra.  i don't think they make them anymore, but you may find a clearance sale somewhere.  they run pretty small and are bordlasted.

These are extremely stiff shoes and edge great, but beware the rubber is not nearly as sticky as most. Had issues slipping off gym jugs in a way i never had. They are good on rock though.

Oddly enough, this is exactly why they're my gym training shoes. Absolutely unforgiving on proper foot placement/pressure.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
