I met John Duran at RR in 3/89. We had been schmoozing at the Ski Industries of America trade show, which devoted a small sector to climbing, backpacking, telemarking, and other esoteric activities. In light of his recent passing and the

Here’s one of John untying after onsighting and then cleaning the pitch. His rope was too short.
