Rained pretty solid the last two days. Might to rain again tomorrow.

Rain yesterday was extremely light. Was in Pine Creek all day in a tee shirt. Today was also fairly light. I walked around kraft a bit. Only the top 1/4” of sand was saturated. Went to Charleston anyways and climbed in the snow. But don’t know how much rain the park got after i left around noon.

I got back to town after the rain last night so not sure what it was like. Will sunny crags like sunny and steep be climbable by the end of today?

I'm personally 100% not going to RR this weekend because of the rain.  Sun might be okay, but why risk it for a long drive?  If i had Mon-Tue off, that might be long enough post-rain to risk driving out there.

Even if it doesn't rain on Fri/Sat, you think Sun/Mon will be offlimits? Asking because I was hoping to go those days.

You're call.  Coming from SD,  I personally just don't mess with risking any leftover dampness.  I personally automatically assume 3 days (so I'd want no rain Fri, Sat, and Sun), making Mon possible.  It of course could be better (Sun okay), or worse (Mon not good).  IMO nothing worse than getting there and having still-damp sandstone; there are many of other options for those without flexibility (limestone, MTB, strip clubs, etc.) - I just go elsewhere or stay home since i have flexibility.

Just hiked all around calico thinking I was going to tell some people off for climbing when it was wet. Whole area is bone dry, outside of the washes and right by the red spring parking lot.

I was planning to climb at Lone Mtn today but it was too cold and windy for my delicate constitution. So I went to check out soil conditions at RR.

Soil at Moderate Mecca/ Red Springs was only very slight damp, under shaded part of rocks only slightly damp.

Then I drove to the First Creek Trailhead. Slight snow accumulation from the past 2 days and today on peaks (photo above taken at RR overlook).

Looked like it was dumping towrds BVC:

View into canyon just south of First Creek  the big white patch is sun glinting off a large wet section of snow melt from the snow immediately above.

Limestone for me tomorrow .

Anyone know if Kraft is dry for a session tomorrow? Seems like the rain has been scattered

It rained overnight and this morning across the city, forecast looks a little ominous for this weekend as well. Anyone looking to climb sandstone this weekend should watch the radar pretty close.

It has rained and is forecast to rain more, though Monday, perhaps some on Tuesday too.

Pretty good start, and not done yet.

Limestone was bone dry by 11am yesterday in spite of rain just an hour or two earlier.

Quite a bit of rain happening today as well. Hoping sandstone is drier by Thursday given sun+temps on tues/wed/thurs AM

Based on rainfall through Tuesday afternoon, Las Vegas has already landed within the top 10 wettest Mays on record with 1.44 inches of precipitation recorded so far. This makes it the highest rainfall total for the entire month of May in Las Vegas history.

There's something funky in that link (it tries to open cmhvrnsfb6g6uq/). Here's the correct one: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/EkYvnTteiuo

Edit to add: that may well be the most annoying voice over I've ever heard!

Anyone venture into the canyons yesterday/today? Curious how the afternoon-shade formations like Ginger Buttress, BV Wall, or Lotta Balls look - seems like they'd have the best odds of drying out while still offering a manageable option for the weekend heat.

Was skeptical about the dryness so we went out to Lime Kiln yesterday and had a great day despite the the high 80s in Mesquite. Sacred Trust gets full AM shade so you can do a morning multipitch there and then after lunch hop on stuff at the Grail after lunch once it gets shade around noon. Amazing rock!

It's baking yesterday and today. In my personal, unprofessional opinion, everything is dry
