13 cams just made it back home. Wisconsin > Utah > Wisconsin. 1.5 weeks tops. They look great, pro stitching & sling colors all make sense. I have a variety of cams, didn't want to bother sending 4 boxes to different manufacturers. Sending them all to one human, who was friendly, responsive & professional when I emailed = simpler for me and I get to support a small business run by another human who shares my vertical addiction.

Highly recommend.

Where did you send it to?

Just a heads up if anyone is planning on using https://www.mtntools.com/cat/rclimb/index.html

I heard great reviews regarding this small business and saw they are local to California so I wanted to give them a go.

3/17/25: I called and inquired about reslinging my cams. I assumed he was the owner that I spoke to sounded like a great guy, very good customer service. He told me it was about a 1 week turn around once the cams arrive but you have to "book" ahead of time. Their website provides all the details. I went ahead and "booked" my mailing date.

This came along with my response along with my order.

"Thanks for your order booked for Apr 2nd. Your job will be billed &
completed within a week after. Please schedule delivery for this date
and remove the slings from your cams (to avoid extra charges). Pack
snug with minimal packing material. You will see a charge, then a
tracking number for the return shipment from
USPS_Shipping_Services@usps.com a day or two later. "

3/28/25: I believed I shipped my cams out this date

3/31/25: They picked up my cams at the PO BOX given on the order

4/2/25: I assumed they would start working on my cams this day since that was my booking

4/11/25: I called to follow up since I did not receive a charge on my card or a return tracking number. Same guy that I spoke to initially said they had an influx of cams sent mid to end of march so they would be 10-14 days behind.

At this point I was obviously frustrated. I couldn't do anymore since they already have my cams. I just wish they had emailed or called any future orders and letting all their customers know they would be behind. I will update if i get my cams sooner and the quality of the work.

Relax. It is probably some old guy that is been trying to thread a needle for the last 3 weeks.

I'm pretty relax, I just wanted to let anyone know if they were in a rush. My statement was purely objective. No critique or slander on the company

Thanks for the heads up. If anyone is in the predicament of needing cams turned around fast, it's worth reaching out to Luke at Runout Customs. Good communication and 4 or 5 day turnaround when he re-slung mine. Great work too.

Runout customs. Luke just did 24 cams for me last week. Turnaround time was a couple days. He does get busier, with longer lead time, but wow!

FYI- I'm also having a less than ideal experience with Mtn Tools.  When I placed my order the first week of March I quickly got a response saying they'd be done about 2 weeks later, March 19th.  I sent an email about a week after that date came and went, no response, another email, no response.  Eventually called, after 2 calls and no answer someone eventually picked up and I was told they'd be done the following week (April 6ish).

Here I am, still with no cams, another 2 emails unanswered, more than a month after they said the order would be done, more than 6 weeks after I mailed them out.  My last 2 emails have just said please return them ASAP, done or not so I can send them elsewhere to be reslung. Called earlier today and no answer.

Update

4/19: Sent them an email for a follow on the cams.

4/21: I called and left a message. No call back

4/22: I called again to check in and finally got a text from them. "Thanks for checking in. Your cams are at the cutting station...should ship nx week, 4/26ish...Jane - Mountain tools"

So let's see if I get my cams back in the next week or so...

Update:

4/28: I finally received my cams. I had to pick them up at my local USPS since it required a signature and I wasn't home when it was initially delivered on 4.26

My concerns for Mtntools is the lack of communication they have with their customers. Apparently I am not the only one that was worried about their cams and concerned about the lacking communication. I emailed them several times with no response until I followed it up with a phone call or text message. This already shouts poor customer service IMO. I also felt like I was lied to regarding their turn-around service. When I called late March, I was told my cams would only take about 1 week. When my cams never arrived I was given the reason that they had an influx of cams come in mid march which put them behind. I can totally understand that predicament, but I should have been warned about that issue when I initially called...or at least have sent me an email or text regarding them being late.

Regarding the quality of the work: The workmanship is as best as I could tell. The length of all the cams are about the same and they tried to color match each sling accordingly. The stitching looks great on all the slings, and they even put the year It was done. The "Max 5YRS" is something I could have done without. I personally don't believe in soft goods only lasting 5 years.

I am a little upset regarding 1 resling. My #2 Yellow C3 was reslung with a Blue sling intead of a matching yellow.

At this point, I don't think I would send anymore of my cams to this company if there are other options. I live in California so I wanted to support California business. I do have other cams I will eventually resling and from the other post, it seems like Runout Customs is the way to go now.

FYI Rock & Resole just started doing this as well. Not sure how much they are charging, or what the turnaround time is, but I was just in there and they had a bunch of sewn loops showing all the different colors and material options they had.

Got my gear back from Mtn Tools earlier this week.

I could write a paragraph about the experience but the TLDR would be- the communication was complete and total garbage, but the work is great.  Don't believe their timeline for resling services, they seem legitimately overwhelmed with demand for resling services so if you're happy to wait 6 weeks of more they do a good job in the end.

Not sure why their tags say only good for 5 yrs.  Probably just a CYA thing.

Hello MP people! As rumored upthread, Rock and Resole is now reslinging cams and gear! Our current turn around time is 4wks and our prices range from $10-15 per cam depending on what type of sling/webbing you'd like. More info on our website (Here).

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
