Any chance you could share the source data and scripts? I'd be interested to play with the parameters.

I wouldn't really count Franconia New Hampshire as a city either.

There’s been a few threads on this over the years. If you’re looking at major cities with premier access, plenty of work, and a decent airport/access to other areas not far off, it’s basically the Front Range, Vegas, and SLC in terms of raw access to climbing. If you want year round, it’s probably a toss up between the Front Range and Vegas.

Everything else is either a smaller city/town or if it’s a bigger city like Vancouver or Seattle, it’s got weather considerations.

YMMV based on your proclivities, what’s important, and what trade offs you’re willing to make.

Interesting that CO Springs ranks as high as it does due to the South Platte, since there are dozens of other multipitch moderates, even bolted ones, within day trip distance from that city which are not listed on MP.

The crags on the Greenville List are closer to Asheville than the places on the Asheville list are to Asheville...

I was wondering why Moab wouldn't rank higher, but notice you chose the airports for the locations.  The Moab airport is out in the flats 20 miles from town.  There aren't any crags that close to the airport.   If the town itself were chosen, the numbers would probably go way up.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
