What’s up!

Me and a friend are looking to solo at least the trifecta, or preferably the quinfecta of the flat irons this weekend, and are looking for anyone who is going to be in the area who has experience. Preferably, if someone would want to do it with us.. that would be the best as having some navigating experience would be awesome. Especially for the supposed bushwhacking sections on 4 and 5.

tentative loose plan of ascent for the first 3 at least:

1) first flat iron through the direct route (5.6)

2) down climb the east face (5.2) and hike to the bottom of the third, past the second flatiron.

3) we have some questions here. Either complete the standard way up the third, the east face standard (5.4), and not fully summit staying on the ledge and then looking to down climb through the sw chimney(5.4). Looking to find it through the south face 10 foot wide ramp, about 100 feet down until finding an eye bolt on the constantly visible pine tree signifying the sw chimney route. I have some concerns being able to find this? The other idea would be to hike to the bottom of the chimney, climb up the sw chimney, continue up the 100 foot slab, and then down climb the same way.

4) once off the third go back to the easiest, the second, and do freeway the whole way up. Probably opting to walk off the right after the slab and hike the way down.

Any insight is appreciated, it’ll be my first time there and my friends second, however they only hiked the last time. Anyone with experience whod be willing to do it with us or give us some solid advice would be ideal!!

I have done NFIAD (numbered flatirons in a day) a couple times. I recommend you go in order 4, 5, 3, 2, 1. Just take the standard easy routes up the front of each.

Right now, this is not possible due to bird closures, as are a few other areas in the flatirons.

Its a fun outing with some enjoyable moments.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
