After countless resolves, my 5.10 Team Black is disintegrating. I think they got maybe one more resole before needing new ones. They are my favorite bouldering shoes. So, hivemind, what are the closest shoes on the market today to my Team Black? Some folks at the gym suggest Drago LV?

Unparallel uses very similar designs to old 5.10 shoes. I've heard the Leopard is a Team-equivalent, but I can't speak to that. If you browse their website, you can probably find something similar. In the case that the Leopards are similar, you can get them for a good price here:

I should add, their rubber is pretty good. I love the harder stuff they use on the Moccs, which is basically C4. They use similar rubber to pre-Adidas 5.10.

Are they still in business? I'm getting conflicting news about them.

The UP Vim is a remake of the V10, which might also be up your alley. I never climbed in the V10/Team Black/Team VXI BITD, but I've tried both the Leopard 2 and Vim. They both fit pretty similarly, but Leopards have 0 midsole stiffness, meaning they crumple into a ball while Vims are more medium-soft. No idea how RS compares to Mystique/Mi6. Also, don't expect the fit to be 1:1 to your old Team Blacks -- the UP equivalents to the old 5.10 models are more like remakes than near identical copies (eg., Anasazi VCS is much different than the UP Rise).

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
