what’s the hardest slab boulder in the US
anyone know ? |
Prolly any JTree V0 |
No |
Probably not the hardest, but the Swan (V10) at Vedauwoo is one of the hardest I've heard about. I've no personal experience on it, but it's close to Out of Site, which is a really fun V2 fingers/hands crack. |
Any one of the the v3 slabs on The Gill boulder in Eldorado Canyon. I've seen them repeatedly spit off v10 boulderers. |
Does this one count? |
This gives it as Kumba V11 in Yosemite. But.. can’t find much about that on mountain project. |

Adding to the V10 bucket of slabs, there is Samus Aran Direct at Haycock Mountain, PA. |

From my understanding, there’s a v10 slab climb to the left of Iron Resolution in Joshua Tree that was put up by Carlo Traversi. I’m not aware of any repeats and it honestly doesn’t look climable. Edit: Sorry it was v9*** (I don’t climb v9 but that looks impossible regardless.) |
Space (V8) and Odyssey (V9) in Little Rock city are maybe not the hardest but are certainly some of the best. |
Maybe The Ballerina v11.. |
Mount Woodson has another v10, Rain Dance. I've walked past it a few times as it's along the main approach and it's hard to see how anyone can climb it. Hard to see the angle well in the video on the MP page ( vimeo.com/38012908) but it's smooth and steep. I believe the v10 grade is from before the "holds" broke but I could be wrong. |
Maybe the The Archer V11 in Yosemite? |
YES thanks everyone keep them coming |
“Slab” is as hard to grade as it is to define. True slab, would be pure friction, but it is just as often steep face with small holds and any number of variations in between. |
Abyssal Agony v12 located somewhere around Coopers Rock, a true slab highball. FA done just the other day. https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cn11SqtAF4r/?igshid=YWJhMjlhZTc= |
