Smallest rap ring available
|
Sorry if this has been covered before, wasn't able to find anything. I'm looking for the smallest rap ring available to terminate the free end of a connect adjust mod (see: https://www.mountainproject.com/forum/topic/200711699/project-share-connect-adjust-re-rope). Light is nice but more interested in reducing bulk. I'd ask in the general forum, but figured people around here would have better info. From what I've found, it might be the tebylon half-ring (40mm OD) or the cypher aluminum (no published OD but looks quite small). Thanks! |

Out of stock but the 7mm maillon rapide aluminum quick link is smaller in one dimension but larger in the other at 33mmx 64mm https://hownot2.com/products/aluminum-quick-link?variant=47565612843323 This 4mm unrated Kong stainless oval quick link is smaller than your rap rings as well: https://hownot2.com/products/oval-quick-link?variant=47139216425275 |

If you're just looking for a pull handle that can be clipped to the side you could use a tent guy line tensioner ring. If the hole is too small you could drill it out, I guess. They're dirt cheap on Amazon. Maybe they're too small? |

Some good recommendations - thanks all! The quicklinks are a good idea, will likely go with one of those. I'll see if I have any of the guy line tensioners around, but it would be nice for it to be rated so I could use it as a two-bolt anchor with a snapgate. |

One of these guys might work: https://hownot2.com/products/half-ring?_kx=CZAqFFVAdS34hJUO1uQ9Tqk_1unG3Sg_pqgvS8K8QIk.YtKRxs |

If its just to pull on, these are very light: I just leave a normal stopper knot that has been uber tightened down. |
