That is correct, a foam pad. I assume I/you could add a plastic sheet for support in addition to the foam. The pocket has kamsnaps that are easily openable.

I am committed to making more product videos.

I have debated manufacturing merely a cover out of Ultra 200TX, much like the mammut one.

The blue ice pack is Ultra 200 at 45L while the Wallpinist is 800TX, 65+ liters. There is no comparison between these two materials.

I mean, sure. It is $500 for the 65L right now, but its made in the US out of as much dyneema as you can get.

The blue ice is made from ALUULA Durlyte isnt it? (i think around 170gsm) Also do you have experience with the ALUULA composites? Beyond delamination issues do you thinks is inferior or superior to similar weighted ultra fabrics?

I am not familiar with Aluula, but if there’s film exposed on the inside fabric thats a problem for hauling a bag(with intent). Couldn’t find any ASTM data to compare, so…

If you see the video, they say that they have used a EVA? foam sandwiched between the DURLYTE and a 70d (if i remember correctly) nylon liner

About ALUULA:
They have no film/adhesive, they have a loosely woven UHMWPE grid, in some kind of PE matrix (maybe still HDPE), "fused" together via carbon-carbon bonds. As its not fully UHW PE, its less strong than pure material (maybe around half or so), but eliminates the problems regarding de-lamination, need to add polyester into the woven part, adhesive that can weaker material. Unfortunately the real-world/lab testing info is very limited, there is some incidents reported on reddit about pinholes and poor abrasion resistance in the GRAFLYTE versions (ultralight-weight with less UMWPE). It has other nice features like laser-cut edges are stable, and can be heat-bonded resulting in stronger or equally strong interface than the material itself.

I have just purchased the Parbat EL55 backpack made for different ALUULA fabrics, although haven't ticked enough miles to have any opinion on it. In the GRAFLYTE, i can see the grid of the UHWMPE threads, between them the fabric is almost fully see-through. The DURLYTE (as the blue ice's version) is hard, almost like some kind of soft plastic.

Looks interesting! 45L does seem pretty small though. Hopefully they can offer something larger soon.

I have an Alpine Hauler on the way. Will let you know how it works out. I plan on doing some mods to make it a bit more functional for actually alpine climbing.

I can add an extension collar if you go this route and want more volume.

I made a VERY long video about our products, including the 45/65L Wallpinist haul bags. Skip to 79:00 for them. Product Overview IG
