Looking to do Washington Column
|
Hey guys, Vancouver resident here. I am very interested in trying Washington column in the autumn. Has anyone ever had luck meeting up with randoms on MP for international trips. Let me know your horror stories etc. You can also let me know if you're interested! |

My friend Joe Koropecki lives on Vancouver Island. He works in a gold mine and is underground for long periods of time but I will let him know about this post. I don't know where he is on the island, but I know he goes out solo practice Aid climbing because he can't find a partner. And he would be interested in Washington column I'm sure. |

Shawn, reach out to me on messenger. Let's chat, look me up. |

Shawn, I'm in Cumberland on Vancouver island, we could plan a day in Squamish to get to know each other |

I’ve met people for international trips 2 times and met 2 random people to wall climb with when I was in Yosemite last year. All my randoms have worked out great so far but maybe I have just been lucky. My advice would be to join the Facebook group for the area you want to climb and make a post there introducing yourself with some pictures and related climbs you’ve done as well as goals and dates you could be there. There’s a Yosemite climbing FB group, I met 1 partner on there before I left for my trip and I met the second partner in camp 4 after I got off Washington column with partner 1 since he had to go back to work.

Be certain to carefully scrutinize the credentials of any prospective partner, for he could be a big wall theorist in disguise. |

That's a long way from everywhere! Hope all is, like, well, eh? |
