There seem to be mixed opinions on whether, after doing West Side Story it's best to rap Road Kill or go back down WSS. There's no info on MP about where Road Kill goes. Any experience/advice would be welcome.

Rapped WSS years ago. I think we left a rope fixed to get back over? Someone who has done it recently should know. Road Kill does go straight down the pillar. You can probably scope anchors from the trail. My $0.02.

Thanks boss. According to MP there has only been one ascent of WSS in the last 6 years, but I guess not everyone logs their routes on here. I think we'll rap the route and take some line to leave. Which side does RK take?

That looks like a cool line, very direct. I can't find it on here - have you done it? If not do you know anything about it?

It is a cool line. Only done 20 feet of it on another route (bolts were quasi-modern as I could see as I passed thru). A4 on FA. Probably easier with beaks. Bring a drill to replace bad bolts.

When we did WSS many years ago I remember leaving a rope for rapping the route. I remember trickiness on the raps, but nothing too severe. Really enjoyed the route as I recall.

I’m pretty sure we ended up rapping down the route Not So Soft.

Thanks Scott. Where do I find info on the routes that aren't listed on MP, and do you know why don't they get listed? Where does Not So Soft go?

Hi Martin, We had topos for routes on Cottontail but I can't seem to find them and I'm not sure which guidebook is best. We climbed Brer Rabbit and rapped the top pitches into Not So Soft, which was close-by and more of a direct shot to the ground. Might be hard to find if you climb WSS. Probably be better to descend terrain you've already covered, even if you have to fix an extra rope. Maybe the Road Kill raps are easy to find after topping out. Routes are put on MP by users of the platform. MP is not necessarily comprehensive for any given area. The quality of info on MP is wildly variable. Not so Soft is near Brer Rabbit. Brer Rabbit is an excellent route, but it's the only route I've climbed on the tower. I thought that the Cottontail was quite the adventure. Best of luck, Scott

Hey Scott, thanks - I appreciate your reply. It's a little frustrating that details of these routes aren't available anywhere, maybe I'll ask Crusher.

He would be the person to ask for sure. Hope it works out.
