Tick Season 2025

Ticks are back out again - figured I’d put this thread out so folks can say what the tick conditions are looking like around the state.

Picked up a few in the platte (Wonderland) today by the river. Have heard from others picking them up in Thunder, Elevenmile, and Sheep Nose over the past week or two as well.

Yes - picked up one in clear creek canyon last week. Happy spring!

Huge swarms in Eldo the last couple of weeks. Stay clear!    

These buggers prefer vegetation. There's usually more vegetation on and at the base of trad lines. For your own safety, y'all should just go clip some bolts. Maybe Canal Zone or Table Mtn where the base is mostly pure dirt with nothing growing.

No rattlers sighted just yet (in Eldo), but with this week's temps, they should soon show up.

I thought tick (and fire) season were just year round occurrences these days 

Went and dipped in the Platte River after climbing The Vegetable last Sunday. My partner and I thought nothing of it as we casually tossed our clothes on the ground by the river. The situation became less casual when my partner noticed a tick crawling on his shirt right after he put it on. Driving on Metberry Gulch is interesting enough without wondering if there's ticks under your clothes. Lesson learned.

Got a few on us above the ranch at wonderland today which is at 8650 and a couple miles from any water so tick season is definitely in full swing now

Found a bunch on me out in turkey rocks. Uggg!

Picked one up at north table a couple weeks ago

I got 3 at lumpy ridge today. They're back! :(

Made 3 new friends as well at Thunder Ridge yesterday.
