Hey climbers! I’m Rajat, an independent mountaineer from India, and I’m inviting you to join me on an exclusive, non-commercial expedition to summit Black Peak (Kala Nag), a perfect technical 6000m peak and a fantastic alternative to the overcrowded 6000m climbs in Nepal. The expedition is set for September–October 2025.

A bit about me—I’ve been leading and organizing treks and expeditions in the Indian and Nepalese Himalayas for the past 5 years, working both independently and with some of the top names in Indian mountaineering. While I’ve organized successful ascents of Black Peak twice before, this year, I’ll be attempting the summit myself, and I want to do it with an amazing team.

This is not a commercial climb. Instead, it’s a carefully planned, fully customized experience designed for climbers who value quality, camaraderie, and meaningful connections in the mountains. We’ll have professional local guides, fully transparent logistics, and a strong focus on safety, with all costs and details laid out clearly from the start.

I’m looking for a small team of experienced climbers who are interested in attempting this magnificent peak. If this sounds like you, I’d love to connect, share the detailed expedition plan (itinerary, logistics, permits, costs, etc.), and discuss how we can make this journey unforgettable together.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Cheers,
Rajat

I might be misunderstanding but what makes this *not* a commercial climb? Especially if there are guides and prepared logistics? And who are the costs paid to?

Hey, thanks for asking—happy to clarify.

This isn’t a commercial climb in the typical sense. A commercial expedition is usually run by a company that sells fixed-price packages, works with large batches, assigns guides, handles everything end-to-end, and builds in profit.

This climb is different. I’m organizing it independently for a small team of six, and we’re simply splitting actual costs. It’s not a guided service or a pre-set package—you only contribute toward what you can’t arrange yourself. If you already have certain gear or can handle part of the logistics, that’s completely fine. I’ll share a full cost breakdown, and everyone pays based on that. It’s a team effort, not a tour.

Of course, since Black Peak is a technical 6000er, we still need IMF permission and a Liaison Officer, so all legal protocols will be followed. The local team includes professionals I trust—more like friends I’ve worked with before.

Also, whether it’s commercial or not, you can’t really do a peak like Black Peak fully on your own in India. The terrain is raw and remote, trails aren’t clearly defined, and you need local knowledge—guides, cooks, transport, tents, food, etc. Alpine-style isn’t really feasible here.

I’ll be climbing as part of the team—not just managing it from the outside.

Happy to send the full plan if you’re interested!

Cheers,

Rajat
