Portaledge lifespan

I bought a D4 2p portaledge last year and love it. However I'm already up to 30 nights bivying on it ( or 40 person nights) and it's holding up well, but starting to see the first signs of age. I have big plans for 2025 and expect more than 40 nights on it this year.

My question is: About how long can I expect it to last for?  I try to only flag it while hauling if it really makes sense to, I can build and pack it in it's bag in 6 minutes anyways.

I expect to be wall climbing for a long time and try to replace gear around the 50% of its life mark. I do this to allow for sharing with others and with this portaledge  probably save it for more alpine/expedition objectives.

Cheers!

Buy some coated ripstop nylon off the roll at Fabricland, get some good contact cement with nasty aromatic hydrocarbons like toluene, and a pair of scissors to add patches to wear points.  You can get hundreds of nights out of your ledges.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
