El Mudo 2.0 for Rope Solo

Looks like the Mudo 3.0 + Yomi are both now available: https://stonecrag.sellfy.store

I'll be staying with my Mudo 2.0 for now (rope slip hasn't been a big issue for me) but look forward to being convinced the new version is worth it.

The Mudo 3.0 has no problems with backfeed, nor with slippage with any brand of strings within the 9.4 to 10.5mm range.
It stops upside-down falls in conjunction with the Yomi or backup knots.
In fact, when making horizontal crossings, the rope must be manually fed.
You can climb TRS and rappel without altering the original setup, that is, with the same setup you can LRS, rappel and TRS, the latter just by putting weight on the free rope (2 or 3 kg).

I have been climbing with a Soloist for over 25 years, and think it is the best lead solo device ever made.  I have a Silent Partner, but think it is far inferior.  This El Mudo looks like it might be similar to a Soloist.  I just ordered one and will try it out soon and report my comparison to the Soloist.

Any verdict on this?

I found a new Soloist and am debating between whether to use that or the Mudo 3.0. They do seem quite similar in basic design.

I just got my Mudo 3.0 a month or so ago and I think it's a great piece of gear for the rope solo game. I've used is several times for top rope soloing and will venture in to lead rope soloing with it in the near future. Even though it's primary design is lead rope solo it works great for top rope solo. Have not had any issues with rope slippage or feeding (using a 10mm rope) Additionally, you do not need to change the configuration after reaching the top of the pitch to rappel down. Just put a carabiner in the opening on the far end of the device and pull back to lower. Good design and well made being completely steel (if I'm not mistaken).

Any user updates on this thing?

I picked up the Mudo 3.0 a while back but only used it once before going back to the tried and trued Soloist (I've been using for decades). The Soloist seems a lot better but I probably just need to give the Mudo 3.0 more time.  Any Soloist --> Mudo users out there?

I had the 2.0 and switched back to the soloist.

I’ve been using the El Mudo 3,now for several months now ( trad Alpine) I also have a Soloist. I prefer the El Mudo because of its solid construction absence of any springs and the simple fact that it is now the only device in production that is designed for lead rope soloing. It is quite a pain to get the setup dialed in.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
