The Changelog : August 2023

Hiya Zander, thank you for the updates!!  It's awesome to see some progress here.

I think there are a few small changes that could have positive impact, but this is "just, like, my opinion, man" .... take what you like, and leave the rest.

(1) Consider making to-do's green again, and providing the colors in the Map Key ... I don't think the distinction between map background, yellow/red heat map ticks, and purpley-gray to-dos is as clear in the current color scheme as it used to be.

(2) Upon hover, consider either (a) changing the pointer icon, or (b) providing a popover like it did before ... It's actually way more useful hover CONTENT in the after version, but I don't think you make it clear to users that this feature is available.

BEFORE colors (ticks in yellow, to-dos in green)

AFTER colors (to-dos are purpley gray)

BEFORE hover pops more info

AFTER hover does nothing ... you have to CLICK for more, but it's not obvious this is an option because your mouse doesn't change and nothing pops

When you DO click, the content is great!

Thanks for taking a look :)

Is the new tick map only available for public profiles? I linked my onX Maps account from account settings but still see the old incomplete map

We're working to get this fixed now.

Any updates on this?

Thanks for the bump, Michael. It looks like a fix hasn't happened yet so I've asked for an update. Appreciate your patience and apologies for the inconvenience in the meantime.

So uhhh… I really do miss having all of my ticks on the tick map sometimes

Thanks for flagging, Michael. I'm not seeing all Ticks and To-Dos on that map anymore so something must've broken. We'll get that fixed.

Sorry, I misunderstood the issue. The new heatmap that shows all ticks and to-dos is currently available if you've connected to onX and have private ticks turned off. We're working on making it available to users who have connected to onX and have private ticks turned on

In the meantime, if you have private ticks turned on, you will see the old tick / to-do map, which has a maximum number of ticks and to-dos it can show so any beyond this limit (which prioritizes most recent ticks / to-dos) won't be visible.

Is there any shot at having the option to disable satellite view on the new tick map?

I find that the terrain sometimes blends with the color of the ticks, and I'd prefer to have a standard gray map that makes ticks/to-dos stand out a bit more

Does using the Terrain layer help? (Click pop-up button bottom right, select Terrain.)

I don't have any buttons on the bottom right, only the coordinates of the very center of the map

My fault, Andre. I was looking at the old map. Good call-out for the heatmap, I'll see what can be done.

Thanks a bunch! <3

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
