Locked gate at Quincy Quarries (Blue Hills)

Today (Friday Feb 28) I drove by the Quincy Quarries in the Blue Hills. The main parking lot was blocked by a big locked gate. Anyone knows anything about this? I asked DCR but they said this is City of Quincy property. The tiny lot (DCR property) next to it is open.

Towards the end of last year they (The Man, uncertain which) closed the quarry main lot at night on more than one occasion. On at least one day the main lot had not been reopened by noonish and at least one car was trapped inside.

Got reply from Quincy Police Chief:

"Those are our locks.  We were having issues with kids up there at night so we worked on a plan with DCR, MA State Police and DPW to lock them at night and open them in the morning.  I'm not sure why they have remained locked but I am going to get them unlocked now.  We will keep them unlocked and re-evaluate when the weather gets warmer.  If the kids start becoming a problem we can get back onto our schedule of having officers lock them at night and open them in the morning.  "
