I gotta call you out on this, not because I think you’d be a better crack climber without, but because Hand Jammies are *at least* 30 years old, and they were invented specifically to do away with tape gloves, which have been in use for at least 50 years (I’ve a Vedauwoo book from the 70s that depicts climbers with taped-up hands).
Likewise for kneebar pads.
Neither of these bits of tech made any climbs “possible”, it just made it easier to repeatedly work routes that would otherwise be too physically painful for sustained efforts.
Very polite call out actually. I agree New limits of possible mark technology. I guess we only differ in that I say technology also means easier, cheaper, further, better, safer, more from less, less waste. Strangely technology also seems more of worse.
people now use crack gloves on their palms for slab climbing to benefit from the sticky rubber.

Excuse me! This has really been seen in the wild?! I can't tell if I wanna look down on this behavior or it's genius......

I didn’t really think about how much reliable weather forecasts have contributed to climbing until I read The Tower by Kelly Cordes. Modern forecasts have really changed the Alpine climbing game, especially in places like Patagonia.
