Looking for some ultralight aluminum crampons to chop up for a project. Fine if the points are totally worn out, I'm going to mostly cut them off anyway. Looking for super cheap.

Show me what you got.

Bump for used up old aluminum crampons.

I'd feel guilty chopping up ones that are still good. Thanks for the heads up tho. Also, looking for fully automatic bindings.

I have some really old BD crampons (pre-stinger/cyborg) you can have if you want, pretty sure they're steel though if that's a deal breaker for you?

edited to add - it's a pair of these although significantly more hammered.

I've got an old pair of carbon steel sabertooths I can cut up. Was hoping to find something lighter.

If I'm right that you're trying to make a pivoting step-in plate for approach skis with ice boots, why not just bolt together a rectangle of aluminum box beams (like the attached, from McMaster-Carr)?  Drill holes in the front and several in the back for toe and heel bails, respectively.  Bolt it through a heavy duty hinge up front and you're in business.

That sounds like a good idea. If anyone wants to sell me some clapped out aluminum crampons for cheap, tho, hit me up!
