Grand Rapids Climbers?

Hey folks I'm a climber most recently from Flagstaff AZ but I moved to Grand Rapids, MI for grad school and I'm looking for people who'd like to train together or trip out to the Red come spring. I've been going to Terra Firma. Is there a Facebook group or something specifically for G.R. folks that I should get on? Cheers!

Welcome to the area! I know that there is a Grand Rapids climb club on instagram who get together regularly and climb at all 3 gyms in GR and the one in Holland. They are super great and friendly folks who I belive do some trips.

Otherwise, just get around and talk to people. The Red is the main destination from west michigan, but plenty of people also go to Devils Lake and the Holy Boulders. If you are into bouldering there is an amazing area in canada called The Nooks that is being developed by GR local Brendan Baars who is around Terra Firma a lot. His guidebook is available for sale at a few places in the area. 

Also if you like or want to get into ice climbing, Peabody's ice climbing club over on the east side is a lot of fun, and Michigan Ice fest is a big thing.

Enjoy the area, and feel free to shoot me a message if you want to climb. I am in Holland so I am mostly at scrapyard, but I would happily take a trip to Terra sometime soon.
