Hi! I’m kinda looking to get into alpine climbs and ima be in leadville 4 a couple days, looking for something like 3rd class so not really climbing more like exposed scrambling

TIA!

West Ridge of Quandary is nice. Lots of cool scrambling around gendarmes all 3rd class and a short, simple approach from McCullough Gulch TH.

Depends on the season, but my favorite is the Mt. Belford/Mt. Oxford linkup!

I wouldn’t really call it class 3 but Mt. Sherman is an awesome climb! It has some boulder fields, some scree, and some light scrambling

I wouldn’t really call it class 3 but Mt. Sherman is an awesome climb! It has some boulder fields, some scree, and some light hand climbing

Kelso Ridge on Torrey Peak is fun. There is a knife edge near the top. That maybe a little far from Leadville but worth the drive.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
