When blue ice posted this yesterday, they stated that it was only screws in Europe and no US screws were affected. Has that changed?

Post stating "Europe Only"

The letterhead of the notice says it's Blue Ice Europe. No reason to think it's been expanded to US.

The recalled batch numbers are listed in the recall notice.  That's probably the thing to look at if you're worried, regardless of where you purchased.

are they just getting dull quick? Whats the problem? I read the recall but its a little vague.

The recall states

We have identified performance loss issues during product lifespan on a series of our AERO 10cm, 13cm, 16cm and 19cm steel ice screws.

As a result, there is a risk of encountering significant resistance to screwing after a few uses.

I interpreted that to mean that finish plating is not holding up. But it could mean there was heat treating issue thus dulling of the teeth. If I see Bill I will ask him.

This reads like a pleading from one of those jurisdictions where you still need to allege and prove specific grounds before the court will grant a divorce.

Which is important if you're one of many in the US buying from EU sites to save money.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
