Hi,

I am have been rock climbing (mostly trad) for 21-years, but took the last 6 years off due to a new baby. Ready to take out my rack and get back into it.

The problem is I have been out of it so long that

  1. I don't know anyone that climbs in San Diego anymore.
  2. I need to get back into it with easy routes (5.9 and under)
  3. I need someone that is comfortable leading to put up a top rope (or belay from the top). It will be a few trips to the crags before I am ready to lead again.

I am willing to pay for someone experienced to belay me and double check my anchors and trad placements.  We got out for a day and climb. I can belay you on the hard stuff, but want to get some easier stuff for me to get back into it.

Very experienced belaying a leader. Have photos and videos of me back in the day (Tahquitz, etc), so you don't think I am some gym rat.

I know I can pay a guide service $400-$500 a day, but I am looking for something in the $50 to $75/day range.

I have all my own gear (inc rack). I work my own schedule and can go out during the week, when places like Mission Gorge don't have lines, or whenever.

I have lead trad up to 5.9 on Taquitz, but that was 10-years ago. Had kids and you know what happens.

If you are going out anyway...

Hey man, I would climb with you and check your anchors for free for a day if you can make it out to Joshua tree, my schedule is pretty flexible in late February

I'm totally open to being a belayer i have about 8 years of climbing experience and very well versed in trad. I am willing to guide free of charge  only down side is I'm recovering from a broken wrist so I cant currently lead anything.so maybe multi pitch might out the question for now

Frank, feel free to hit me up. I live right by mission Gorge and would be more than happy to climb with you for free

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
