Made it out to 2wd camp this past weekend in a Honda Pilot, was a little tricky in a few spots for sure. Felt like we were the only ones out there, maybe due to the smoke. Been awhile since I have been out there and the road has really changed, Unfortunate that the Jeeps are so privy on mucking up the road for some fun... |

We made it to within 3/4 mile from 2WD camp in a RAV4 before bailing. We just camped earlier and walked the road each day. We were the only climbers, but certainly not the only people. We unfortunately hauled out more trash on Sunday than climbing gear. |

Evening, yes the buggy people the 4X4 side be side riders are now a huge problem and are having big impacted to the area. There base camp is at Grays Mt camp grounds area by Fresno Dome! They are a menace to the ares and the road ways up here!!! They are anything but stewart's of the forest!!! I see the future of the road ways up here, its going to end up like the road to the Buttermilks, police with radar, 25 mile an hour speed limit signs with a lot of law enforcement up there!!! They are going to reck it for all the other buggy riders up there who are cool and following the rules. Great lesson for the rock climbing community to look at, Low profile, clear up your mess, and do not make enemies with other user groups and law enforcement! Week days are at this point still mellow with not a lot of people up here! heads up on the weekends, Happy climbing Mike A. |

Does anyone know if the roads out to gray eagle are open right now? |

Morning still closed! Happy climbing Mike A. |

Recommendations on where to camp for climbing at High Eagle? Gaggs or dispersed near there looked best, and what I could tell from the various forest service orders I think that campground is open? I've only been once in 2020 and we stayed at big sleep and made the mistake of trying to drive over to high eagle in my crv. Trying to do better this time! |

You can just camp where you park for High Eagle, its very obvious when you get there |

Made it to the last turnoff (Sleeper Trail) before "2WD camp" in a 2020 Subaru Forester and hiked the rest of the way up the road each day. It really was a bummer to watch the destruction of the road happening in real time as we were passed by many off-roaders on our hikes in. The climbing was generally excellent, it really is a shame that one user group is degrading it so much for everyone else... |

Hi all, yes the off road people are out of control up there and it’s the same going to Fresno Dome, sad but true, happy climbing Mike A. |
|
Damn, Mike do you mean that getting to Fresno Dome the road is as bad as getting to 2WD camp? Hoping to check out Fresno Dome when it cools off a bit but that drive was pretty hairy in the Subaru. |
