We are planning to visit Avocado Gully at redstone on Dec 22. Has anyone been to the area recently? Thanks!

Green Mountain Falls in Cunningham Gulch as seen from the approach!
Ice was fresh and a bit thin at the top of the crux pitch, but an enjoyable day out nonetheless!

P.S. As a first time leading in a while I had failed to set a yellow petzl screw properly and it met an untimely ground fall at the base of the crux pitch. My partner was unable to find, but if it was to return to me I would love to offer any and all a drink of choice!

A friend was there yesterday and said nothing, but that could change.

Heard 1st pitch of Ames Ice Hose can be climbed on all ice vs. mixed variation. Any Ouray/Telluride locals that can confirm?

Fwiw, this Facebook group is the most useful place to find ice conditions. I think it's a lost cause to keep this thread as updated as the FB group

If you "don't use Facebook"... Plenty of people these days "don't use Facebook except for ice conditions groups"

Genuinely curious how? I deleted my account years ago. When I go to Facebook links I can see a few posts but then it asks me to sign up, and I can't see comment threads without an account it seems. Is there a way around this without an account? There are several groups I'd love to follow.

Not sure. You probably need an account. By "don't use facebook except for ice conditions groups", I was referring to using facebook with an account.

Anyone been out in Lake City backcountry recently? Curious about Sherman (route condition, independent of avy) and Sunshine peak flows (aka Hollow Point). Thank you!

This is Sherman Climb when we climbed it on 12/30/24. All pitches were in good shape, though the upper crux pillar may have fattened up since then.

Hey y'all,

I am wondering if Jewell Lake is in, and if so, how the conditions are!

Thanks :)

Jewell was in fat, as of 3-4 few weeks ago, can’t see a reason for that to have changed.

Is any of the Clear Creek stuff in? What at the conditions. I'd like to jump down after work one day to get a few laps in.

Drove by there yesterday. The stuff up around Little Eiger was very thin, and what was there was really hooked out. I personally would say give a little while to grow, but as popular as that climb is, someone else will just come along and bash away at it, so if it is your thing, might as well get at it.

Secret Waterfall is in good condition. Climbed it yesterday. No so much traffic on it. Could be a problem with access but yesterday I was able to use standard access - parking on left side after 1st tunnel. Another party came from above and it was more difficult.

I've only ever approached secret falls from the canyon! Thanks for the beta, looks worthy of jumping on.

Anyone been up to Black Lake lately? Haven't seen anyone post about it since December. Assuming it's still in.

Anyone been to Jewell lately? Saw above that it was fat in January, curious if it is still good.

Anyone been to Hidden Falls lately? Also wondering about Lincoln
