Thank you so much for your support, Terry!  I’m excited to make you a pack.  Production begins next week!

I've had my camo Tufa chalk bag and Mochilla for years. Will the new one have a hydration bladder sleeve that I could repurpose as a laptop sleeve?

Hey Josh are you still taking orders?

I’m obviously not Josh, but the answer is yes:

Getting stoked for this.

Going to be like Christmas when my new Mochilla 33 shows up.

Josh, any updates on timeline? Looking forward to getting my hands on mine and hoping it's here before a trip I've got coming up!

He's no doubt way too busy sewing to check Mountain Project.

Hi Everyone,

I hope you all are enjoying the solar winter, and are psyched for the Spring season.

Production on the Mochilla 33 has been going well and I’m looking to start shipping around mid-April.

This batch of 80 has been the largest that I’ve made in my small studio.  I’ve enjoyed slowing down the process and finding ways to be more efficient, while dialing in fine details.  This batch is my best work to date and I’m proud to send these out to our crowdfunder supports.

I’ve pre-sold about 86 packs to date, so will need to do a secondary batch. I’ll keep the pre-order window open until I begin cutting the second batch.

I’m not sure how I want to run TUFA moving forwards.  I learned cutting and sewing techniques for batch production at Mystery Ranch, but until now TUFA has always been made-to-order.  Both styles have their pros and cons for both me and you all as my customers.  Ultimately, I want TUFA gear to be accessible tools that are readily available.  I’d be happy to hear any feedback about what would best suit the community: Made-to-order vs in-house batch vs Asia.

Running this business is very high-energy, and I’m struggling with that lately.  I’m super thankful to everyone who has supported TUFA and continues to help us stay open.  Thank you for your patience.

Best regards,

Josh Kornish

P.S. Through 2025, I’ll be doing a batch of each bag style.  If you’re looking to get a climbing pack, now’s the best time.

The Mochilla 33 arrived a couple days ago and while I haven’t brought it to the field, I thought I’d offer some first impressions:

Incredibly light.

Impeccable craftsmanship – all the seams look perfect.  It is not a simple pack.

The Ultra80XT looks very different from the Ultra fabric that has been plagued by a delamination issue.

Excited to get it in action.

Thanks for the kind words, Darryl!  I’m excited to see where you take your pack.  Thank you so much for your patience and support!

I’m working hard in the studio to get the rest of the packs shipped ASAP, my goal is all shipped by end of May. Thank you to everyone who has been waiting for their pack, since our New Year launch.

These packs are my best work yet, and I’m excited to see them out in the world.

i received mine.  Have not climbed with it yet, but hoping to do so next week.

I have a lot of packs.  At the time I ordered this pack, I felt like I didn't really need another mid-sized alpine pack.  However, now that I have looked at the pack up close, I realize that I actually did need another mid-sized alpine pack.  This pack is just soooo sweet.

This pack is a work of industrial design art.  I can't believe how light it is, especially considering all the features it has (removabable back pad, straps, pockets, roll-top closure, metal buckles and hardware, etc.  Everything on it just exudes quality.

Can't wait to get it out and start using it.

Did you all receive a shipping notification when your pack was sent? I was one of the first backers and haven’t received a shipping notification yet.

I ordered early too, and haven’t received a pack yet. I emailed Josh yesterday and he is still working on shipping, so hang tight is my recommendation.

Gotcha, thanks.

Kai, thank you so much for sharing your kind words.  You’ve been a long time supporter, and the catalyst for the Houdini design.  I’m excited to get my latest work to you and I look forward to seeing where you take it.  Thank you so much for your continued support!

I’m on the final step of assembly and shipping.  About half of the bags shipped, hoping to ship the rest by end of next week.

I will email customers tracking information when I ship.

Note: I’m about to start a secondary cut to finish out this run of Ultra80XT.  If you’re interested, now is the time to buy one.  I have materials for about 20 more of this design.

Thank you all for your patience and support!

I just received my pack in the mail. This is a beautifully crafted piece of gear. As someone who has very briefly dipped my toes into sewing and making gear, it is immediately apparent that this pack is made with the utmost skill. I'm so excited to take this pack into the mountains.

Thank you so much for your kind remarks, Vania!  Have a wonderful summer climbing in the Willamette, and abroad!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
