I sent a message to Climb Aloha inquiring about hiring a guide in 2025, and received a form response back, emphasis mine:
We're thrilled that you're interested in learning to climb safely and join the climbing community here on Oahu! Unfortunately, we have had to halt our basic climbing course indefinitely due to a number of circumstances. This includes the mandate by State of Hawaii that prohibits outdoor guided tours and lessons of any official capacity.
Does anyone know whether this is actually (was or still is) the case?
I'm happy to also find partners, and single-pitch for a day, but banning guiding seems rather shortsighted!

There are no guides in Hawaii for climbing. Whether it is a 'mandate by the state' is debatable as there are countless guides in other sports. But there are no climbing guides. There isint much need for guides as most of the climbing is single pitch sport climbing and bouldering.
