Developing New Route at Sand Rock
|
So I got off trail at Cherokee Rock Village and found a perfect splitter hand crack. The crack is around 25-30ft in height with a large boulder on top preventing a top-out. How would I go about getting permission to bolt an anchor to the top of this? I know this is a rather short route but on New/Kurt Russel wall there are routes just as short. |

Contact the area rep, or info@seclimbers.org. I recommend including a photo or two of the proposed route, along with a description of any hardware you plan to install. |

I sent you a message about this. |

Definitely post a photo. I think I know which route it is. |

Here is the route with one of my buddies for scale. It could be a boulder with a left travers to top out but I think the top could go. I could see the argument for it being a high ball boulder but there are a lot of short routes on new wall. |

does the roof not go ? Looks like potentially the best part of the climb |

Damn, how tall is your buddy? |

Just sling it from the top if you want to top rope it. The route is short, not worth anchors and has been free solo'd. It does top out over the boulder. |
