Help with Checkerboard Wall access

So I just found out the hard way that my car won’t make it on the road to the parking spot. What is best option? Hike from that road? Hike from the Dona Anna trailhead? Is anyone planning to go there in the next two days? We are from East Texas and will be here till Wed morning. 

How close can you get?

Not close at all. I think only 1/4 mile from the big dirt road

That's unfortunate and quite a walk from there. There is a 2nd road about 100 yards past the turn you took. You might be able to get further on that road but there is one rough section that will probably stop you.  

I think that is the closest road to the checkerboard.  Another option is to go to the dona Ana MTN bike trail head and walk from there but I think that is even further.  

Alternatively you could go to Southern comfort, lambda wall, rabbit ears slabs or citadel.  Your car will get to that trailhead although the walks are all probably equivalent.
