Joshua Tree Challenges?

I was wondering if anyone knows any Jtree challenges or big climbing objectives. Obviously, nothing can compare to triple crown in the valley but I am spending the season in the desert and want to challenge myself to something cool. I was thinking of doing all the 4 star routes of every grade in a day but I want to see if yall have any other cool ones. Thanks!

I think the logistics of this would it make it very hard to pull off, the park is just so big. It's a cool idea regardless

I've thought about how it'd be cool to climb a bunch of the multi-pitch routes on the Lost Horse Wall in a day from left to right, i.e.:  China Plates - The Swift - Bird on a wire - Dappled mare - Mare's Tail. That's 15 pitches right there (assuming you link P1 &2 of dapple mare)

You could do a theme challenge and climb all the routes with names related to poodles.

The Women's Challenge: Lesbian Lust, Women's work is never done, and Life's a Bitch and Then You Marry One...in a day. 

How about 1 route on as many different domes as possible? You could just solo the easiest one and make it a running challenge or set a minimum difficulty 

Cumulative v-grade points as your age in a day. I tried this once and found out I was only 7 years old.

On a busy weekend, just finding a place to park your car may be your biggest challenge.

Red point every route on the Sentinel. 

Red point every route on North and South Astro Domes.

On yer birthday, Lead yer age in climbs.

Get's pretty exhausting past 50.

The SCMA once had a crack climbing list that had several phases from beginner to damn difficult.  If you can find that list it's a worthy goal.

Maybe one of the SCMA old timers could post it.

can you hang a porta ledge at both ends? If not can still be done. I think there's a photo of me on the page sitting down doing a no hands rest. I'm sure its probably not the only photo of it though

Jim Erb and Tom Brogan were members of the Rock Climbing Section of the Sierra Club, and the Southern California Mountaineers Association. Those groups did crack climbing workshops and spent a lot of time at J Tree in the 80s/90s. For more details on this history see the post by “le_bruce” at
