why people get any kind of entertainment value from trolls.

They have bad taste and low standards. And what's wrong with banning? If your jokes aren't funny, you can't sing or act, and so on you get canceled, you don't get hired, or the show never makes it past the pilot stage. Same thing.

People get entertainment in others being annoyed. When one party is annoyed, another is, consequently, entertained. This isn't a comedy club or concert. Sounds like you've just been on the wrong end of Tradi and other's trolling.

He 100% got banned for the porn thing lol he did so as part of the drill exchange. He also had a kid during the time of his ban. So I’m sure that played a factor. I’m nearly positive his account was banned/blocked/removed by MP and not by Trevor himself.

I tend to agree. However, this site still has rules, for better or worse, and posting porn seems to be one of the ones that’ll get you banned for some time (if not forever). I would bet money that Trevor did some digging into what would lead to a lifetime ban and probably got told by an admin that posting something of that nature would be the ticket.

Longtime lurker. His link was to YouTube. I think he tricked the admins into thinking he posted porn lol.

After Fritz‘s list I couldn’t help but remember one that failed to make his list.

Mr Anal Impalement - fell off route on auto belay onto a pvc post making up a fence for a setter. caught the pole in his hole. Then if I’m not mistaken robbed a bunch of people on here for gear that he was “selling“.

As for Tradi, I did enjoy the Tradicast thread quite a bit, solid gold. I also enjoyed his trolling from time to time.

and Trevor, didn’t really care either way. Never muted him so it must not have bothered me that much. Found some of his antics funny.

Climbing Magazine pulled their story from their website, but this blog has a similar account of the 2016 accident with a sobering photo.

Grog's firsthand account is in this thread. Be sure to skim through to page 4.

That’s so badass. I don’t know I’d EVER project the same climb after losing a finger to it, let alone immediately after. Some are just built different.

So what’s the resolution? Is the phalange still in the crack? Did he end up sending the proj?

Comments on the route page seem to indicate that a bird of prey bootied the remains of the digit, because the subsequent ascent parties only found bloodstains.

I climbed the route later that year and found the rock to be in similar shape to the last time I was on it. The pin scars and "take"-sculpted crux give the upper crack similar characteristics to a progress-capture-pulley.

Bummer. Raptors are rarely persuaded by offers of a six pack and good vibes.

But you could probably cut a deal for some small crag dogs.  Win-win

If you didn’t spar with him here at some point, it’s pretty fair to say you don’t exist. I love Chad’s back story on him, lol! It was well known he’d make an appearance in very short order at any mention of his name. One can only imagine the myriad of forums and social media sites his vanity scanning encompassed.

It's actually rather sad.  I found his emails and read them again.  I got the distinct impression that the fall and finical issues it crated derailed his life.  It seems that he was thinking of going back to dealing hard drugs.  I sure hope that didn't happen and the guy is OK.

Yeah, he was full bore when he was in the hospital contending with the TBI. He runs hot, maybe too hot. But he’s a tough guy to take the fall he did and keep going.

At one point he was casually throwing around the term "mentally retarded" to describe us road bikers, so I sent him some photos of my brother (who has Down Syndrome) climbing outside in Gunnison. He went to great lengths to apologize in two separate emails and say that he meant no disrespect.

All these personae have a kernel or two of decent humanity behind the screenname, buried though it may be amidst their capers.

Kyle is defiantly tough. I think he's genuinely trying to be a decent person.

I got the impression that he was always trying to prove how tough he was.  Even when it was detrimental to his own well being.

The guy did threaten to beat me to death because privately I asked why he was so aggressive online.  Kyle even went so far as to agree to trave to where I am to fight me. I kept trying to convince him this was a bad idea with his TBI.  He wasn't persuaded and created a 'waiver' he'd sign to not hold me liable if I hurt / killed him in the fight.  It was disturbing.  Fortunately he backed down once he learned no boxing gym would let us fight in their establishment.

I spoke with a few people who knew him.  Apparently his online personality after his accident wasn't too far from how is everyday.  I guess it wasn't the TBI, it's just how he is.

At least this place livened a bit with this thread. Funny how the troll complainers are now the top trolling tolls...

I think it would be great to have a climbing rag publish a What are they doing now article on all the names that have been mentioned .

Yes, at times they seemed like the same person...but fairly certain they were different people who were each other's main partner, at least for some time.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
