Late year climbing at Cirque of Towers

Me and a friend (two european climbers on a roadtrip) will come to Lander this weekend for some sport climbing. We were also looking into climbing in the Wind River Range as it looks mindblowingly beautiful. The weather forecast for the coming days promises around 50°F and sunny weather. Under such late summer conditions the alps have offered us some of the most beautiful climbing days: frozen fingers in the morning, the joy when the sun comes out, and entire peaks all to ourselves. The routes on e.g. Pingora look like they would get plenty of sun. How is the Wind River Range during this time of the year (we're aware it's not prime time)? How are the conditions of the descents, has it already snowed? Would you advise against a visit? (Yes, yes, we'll go south afterwards!)

Cheers!

If you go fairly soon it will be perfect. It's dry, no snow in the forecast.

It might/will be smoky at times though as there is a big fire to the north of there that will be burning until we get some serious moisture. The fire is no threat to the Cirque.

Yeah, had a friend run to the cirque of Towers this last weekend. Snow free (apart from regular patches). He did reported a fire in the north part of Lonesome Lake that looks under control or completely gone but he did reported it was very smokey in the area.

Great, thanks! We'll give it a try before the bad weather hits the cirque!
