I've been eating Keto the last few months so I am going to have to get creative with what I can take on a wall.  Hard boiled eggs, cans of tuna, cheese, jerky, nuts, peanut butter.  Does anyone else have any keto ideas?

My favorite wall food is canned fruit. Peaches in particular. Sugary fruit and juice to drink at the end of a long day.

Coca-Cola for the descent. Save a bottle per person, drink it on the hike out. Caffeine and sugar.

This, and beef sticks!

There must be a high amount of beef heart in the beef sticks though. Preferably beef heart is listed as the second ingredient, after beef.

If they made them 100% out of beef hearts, I would 100% buy them

My go-to snack is to buy a sleeve of five high-preservative bagels, like the Thomas brand (I prefer the blueberry ones for a hint of sweetness). I add sharp cheddar and salami to each bagel, then re-pack them in the original sleeve. For an extra salty kick, I add a few pickle slices. I've kept these unrefrigerated for up to four days without any issues, they may look more like a pancake after a day, but for some reason they taste better that way ;)

Electrolyte Drink. Helps you hydrate and something that tastes good goes a long way.

Summit Libations (if that's your thing):

Disappointed it’s not Ten High. Keep it in America man.

Did you know humans eat more bananas than monkeys?

I can’t remember the last time I ate a monkey

Moist stuff is key. Choking down nuts or crackers is no fun when you’re borderline dehydrated. And things that preserve well in lightweight packaging

Fig newtons. Brie or hummus for the first couple days. Sourdough bread. Jolly ranchers in case you run out of water or brought too much weed.

fruit cups!

Next level would be the dried bull penises sold at boutique pet stores—now there's some bang for your buck! Probably not as nutritious as the beef hearts, but you could also use them as cheater sticks to reach a distant rivet...

In all seriousness, some of my favorite wall foods are:

• honey—packed with natural sugars, antioxidants, anti-inflammatories, vitamins and minerals, and it goes with almost everything. I have fond memories of taking turns with my buddy chugging straight out of the bottle upon topping out. I don't remember many other moments where such simple food tasted so good.

• bags of shelled pistachios—for the weight, the shelled nuts are loaded with fats, protein and salt. When I'm soloing I don't have as much time to stop and eat, so grabbing a handful of these makes it easier to quickly load up on what I can't seem to get enough of on a wall. You definitely will need water, or at least some honey, to wash them down.

• precooked chicken-apple sausage provides a quick and easy feast at any time of day. Not vegan friendly, though, obviously.

• the ready-made packages of Indian dhal (lentils) or potatoes are very flavorful, can be eaten cold and go well with naan/tortillas/bread.

• If you have a stove to boil water, the modern dehydrated meals are pretty easy, delicious and fulfilling.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
