Does anyone have a Petzl Connect Adjust that has been retired from old age or damage? I'm interested in buying just the metal piece! Going to replace the rope with some extra rope I have that has Edelrid's "Protect" technology and having the bar tacks done. |

You can find just the metal piece on eBay. Search for "Rock Climbing Arrestor Ascender 8.9kN for Rescue Outdoor Tree Arborist" or item number 156370162200. It looks like it's just an unbranded copy of this: verticalmuseum.com/Vertical… |

wait did pretzel copy the chinese or is it the other way around? |

In this instance, these are Chinese copies of Petzl's product, the Adjust. But! If you look on Vertical Archeology's website, you'll see other devices with the same mechanism: http://www.verticalmuseum.com/VerticalDevicesPage/Misc/CowsTails.php Specifically look at the Russian offerings to see the simplicity of the mechanism/action. It's just a couple plates with 5 bars between them. http://www.verticalmuseum.com/VerticalDevicesPage/Misc/CowsTails/CowsTail1697.php Further, the mechanism/action is very similar to early geometry based assisted braking devices, like the CAMP YoYo, Salewa Antz, and Wild Country Single Rope Controller: |

I have one I'm willing to part with. It's in new condition (used once). |

Hi Dalton, another member already emailed me and bought it. Apparently these things are in high demand. |

I could get my hands on an old petzl connect. The cord isn't safe, but the metal piece would be intact. |

Richard Vogtwrote: yes they are sold out most places, dang, they really swooped in fast ;D |

Pagan GOBLINwrote: Yeah thats what I was thinkin! I was to get a 70m Edelrid 9.5mm dry rope with their aramid protect sheath and cut a bit off for an upgraded Petzl Connect Adjust :P . The original rope is a 9.5mm as well I believe. And I would still need to send it somewhere to do the bar tacks. Maybe dumb but seeing as they are basically sold out everywhere, I figured this would be a neat project. If you can get your paws on just the metal piece, do let me know! :) |

Can confirm. i purchased one of the eBay knockoffs a few weeks ago and it works fine. I'm gonna die. |

I have a connect adjust I'll part with. I prefer the low profile of the sling anyways so i only used it twice or so. |

I have a few if anyone wants to buy one. Make an offer and pay for shipping. |

I still have 2, (minor scratches from the biner) if anyone wants one. $25 Venmo/Paypal shipped to lower 48. A few bucks less if close to Nevada. |

SOLD both of mine. |
