Recommendations on a good outfitter for packing into Titcomb Basin in the Wind Rivers?

Bald Mountain Outfitters is a commonly used outfitter out of Elkheart Park. Most will only go to Island Lake and drop your gear there which is good as it’s quite fragile terrain past there and horses really tear it up.

Wow, don't bother with Bald Mt. Outfitters. Total rude dick on the phone. Screw them.

Hey Jim, I had a really nice exchange with folks from Lander Llamas while on the trail coming out from the Cirque last week. Not sure if they do what you're looking for but just basing on the exchange I had, they were friendly and worth giving a shot.

I hear good things about using alpacas/llamas. I haven't used them, but from my understanding they can carry up to 75 lbs and are easy to work with. I know there's an company out of lander that rents them out, I think it's Lander Llama company. I have seen them near the deep lake area.

I'd be interested to hear about your experience if you use them. I'm considering them for next season.

My family used Lander Llama Co. a couple years ago in the Stough Creek Basin to get farther and out for longer with two young girls at that time. Highly recommend them! We took two llamas with us. Super easy to work with, both the llamas and the company. They handle drop-off and pick up of the llamas, explain everything you need to know, then they leave it up to you to do the rest.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
