He went to Paris, looking for answers, to questions that bothered him so. -- Jimmy Buffet 1) Beach Volleyball: Why do the men wear shorts and shirts, and the women compete naked? |

Why do you care?

I find the inane commentators to be unwatchable. Lose the human interest stories and focus with brutal efficiency on the actual competitions. But I am not the target audience. And thus I am not part of the audience. Oh well, a news blurb or reel here and there suffices. |

I couldn't find the Olympic Coverage of all the Sports Sucks forum. |

Matt Groom is contracted with Eurosport as well as Shauna Coxsey. Tried to get their feed but the service rejects US based money. |

I've enjoyed most of the stuff you hate. |

Snoop Dogg's commentary of the badminton match alone was worth him being there, it might be best commentary of the entire games. |

John Byrneswrote: That is a pretty common reply to someone when they are griping about nonsense. It wasn’t meant to be of great offense to you. I mean you are complaining about women’s bathing suits, Snoop Dog, bad commentating, and cliche sport interviews. Seems that alone would lend itself to some snark, I would hardly call that an attack, lol. Also, there is an other sports thread this could have gone into, or it could have been filed away in the political dumpster fire forum as well. But for a more substantive reply: “female athletes aren't required to wear bikini briefs during competition. Two pieces are still an option for women but one-pieces and short-sleeve tops are also allowed. Full-length leggings and long-sleeve tops are also permitted in cold weather or for religious reasons…, Many beach volleyball players say that bikinis are optimal for the sport. Two-pieces prevent sand from getting trapped in the uniform, therefore distracting from play. According to Kessy, this is the reason why she doesn't wear a one-piece” |

John Byrneswrote: In my opinion there are a lot of things to care about in the world. Having sufficient tv coverage of the Olympics isn't one of them. |

I'm one who very much enjoys watching the Olympics---seeing top athletes across many sports performing incredible feats---very inspiring. If you don't enjoy it, just don't watch. Still, I do feel that the NBC coverage this year is much too 'celebrity heavy', not enough commentary by folks with actual knowledge of the events. Clearly, though, that's what they believe will increase their viewership, after, I believe, several Olympic coverage cycles with declining audiences---after all, they are a business. |

I don't care because its summer Olympics.... mostly boring shit. especially climbing. climbing is a lifestyle not a sport... pulling plastic = zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz... wtf is a speed climbing event if its not on el cap or the NF of the Eiger? |
|
|
Hard to consider, for example, the men's 100, 400, and 1500 track races this year to be boring---many other exciting performances as well, but perfectly okay for you to not partake. |

Today's US v Australia water polo game had a tad bit of excitement. |

Came for the “He went to Paris” reference. Don’t really have an opinion on the Olympics But Mr. Buffett can be an amazing song writer once you get past the Margaritaville stuff. Nice reference Mr. Byrnes. |
