Clear Creek Canyon Recommends
|
|
Hi everyone, Looking for easy accessible lead climbs in the Clear Creek Canyon area. 5.7-5.10 range. I already saved some climbs but wanted to get some practical recommendations. Any advice appreciated. |

Canal Zone this time of year is probably the most accessible option. |

East Colfax is a nice option, really easy and short walk, and a pretty good amount of single pitch routes between 5.7-5.10. Though, like Canal Zone, can and will get crowded. |

The play pen |

Depending on when it goes into the shade, The Graveyard is also a great option, although I'm sure its a furnace during the day |

Sweet! I had East Colfax saved. I will look up Canal Zone and Playpen. I had High Wire and Wall of the 90s marked too. Would it be safe to say these areas are well maintained? Open to getting a route book if recommended. |

Josh Carbajalwrote: Depends on what you mean by well maintained. Access is easy, anchors and bolts are good- rock quality varies. I’d recommend getting the guide if you’re going to be around for awhile- besides being good to support locals, there’s a lot of rock in clear creek. |

Little Eiger has high quality 5.9-5.10 climbs that are well shaded in the summer |
