Looking for Leadville / Indy Pass / surrounding area partners

Getting back in the saddle after taking almost a couple of years off climbing. I based my life around climbing for over a decade prior, so I have a good amount of experience but am certainly out of shape physically and mentally right now. Hoping that will change quickly.

Looking to get mileage in on easy to moderate routes for a bit to get back in the swing of things, so likely leading up to 5.9 on gear, 5.10ish sport, and very happy to follow up to ~5.12. Also down for up to ~V4/5 bouldering. My favorite style is long, easy/moderate multipitch adventure routes, but I love all styles of climbing and am just psyched to get out!  Also happy to trade belays for whoever needs support on their projects/ if we have different goals for the day. I have all the gear one could need and then some.

I live in Leadville year round, currently an online student so I'm fairly flexible on when I can get out. Picking up a part time job in town soon, schedule TBD. For now weekdays work best but again, I'm flexible.

I'm psyched to explore anywhere in the area, including BV, Monitor Rock, and Independence Pass! I'd also love to make trips around Colorado in general, including Rifle (once I get into better shape), the front range, Shelf, Penitente, etc.

Lemme know if ya wanna get out! A reply here works best, or email me at jacobwrisch@gmail.com

Hi Jake,

I'm in Leadville as well and up for long moderates and anything short under 5:10. I lead sport, Trad and ice at an easy level. Welcome back to climbing! I have Sundays and Mondays off and can get out of work 3:30 to 4:00 ish most other days. Let me know if you want to get out!

Joan

I had a fun outing with Jake today. I highly recommend him as a strong, skilled trad leader and good company!

Throwing my hat in the ring.   I've climbed with both Tim and Joan.  Thumbs up for them.  Good partners.

I'll be in the area every other weekend ish all summer long.  Trad or sport.  Single pitch or multi.  I have plenty of gear and decades of experience.  Happy to lead up to low 10, follow a bit harder.

Looking for partners July 12-15 anywhere from Frisco to Monitor to Aspen to BV.

Team! I’m based in Aspen and looking for some partners to climb w/ at Indy Pass. 45 years of experience, but in the last few years I was mainly focused on 8000m peaks. I have been a bit this year and hoping to lead moderates and follow up to 5.11. Extremely flexible schedule.

Hello to you all! Jake, Joan, George, Greg, Natalie, Jeffery, and Chris!!

I have just recently moved to Salida and am looking for some folks to climb with. I’ve been climbing like 10 years and have a few big walls and a few big falls under my belt. I’m into cracks but really have a good time anywhere on a rope or even just up in the mountains.  Also, I am a Wilderness RN so there’s that. Like I can put on a tourniquet and stuff.

Anyways, I’m free evenings and weekends! See ya soon!

maybe consider joining this group and ask them for email chain to ask around for partners

for what it is worth it is easy to find a partner for ellingwood ledges all summer and in general make new specific route post like for davis face or three amigos if u dont mind a long hard approach anyways just keep making posts w specific dates and routes it is what works best

Hey all! I'm sorry for my absence in this chat and my lack of replies, July has turned out to be very busy and I haven't had time to get out. After August 4th or so I'll have more time as classes wrap up and I'll start reaching out!

Climbing with Joan tomorrow Monday. Looking for a partner for Tuesday.  I’m fairly familiar with Indy pass. Getting to know ten mile better. But open to other locations in the area. Let me know.

Weather looks amazing.

I am in keystone but go to BV all the time. Many years of climbing experience,  leading trad and sport. Haven't done any climbing over 2 years, was living on the island of st croix.  Would be great to get some easier climbs in and get some strength and confidence back. Anywhere from frisco to penitente sounds great

Jake, Joan, George and friends,

So glad I found this post! I live in Chattanooga and recently retired from teaching. Will be spending 5 September through 5 October in Leadville. I plan to hike and do some easier scrambles but would love to do some climbing as well. I began rock climbing in 1969. An early highlight for me was leading the Upper Exum on the Grand Teton. Also led 5.10 on gear on the cliffs above Baden-Baden, Germany in the mid 1980s. Since then I have replaced my Sticht plate with a GriGri. Although I am mostly a gym climber these days, I still enjoy climbing outside on moderate sport and gear routes. Please drop me an e-mail (scaulfield@epbfi.com) if you are interested in climbing together.

I'm in the area for the next week and am free to climb anytime.  Mostly I'm nearer BV and Leadville but totally flexible.

I’m working in frisco tomorrow. Hope to be done by 1 or 2.  Could be slightly later.  Hit me up if you want to crag some I 70. Ten mile area Friday.  Or Indy Pass, Monitor, BV. Sat Sun.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
