Headed up this week to Hallet.  Wondering if micro spikes are still needed to get to the base.

What route were you planning to take?  I was thinking about Tyndall Gully this week but not sure how melted out it is given the heat wave... would be great to hear if anyone else knows!

There are a few snowfields on the approach. We crossed them without microspikes on Saturday, I was slipping around a little bit in TX3s but my partner was in Mutants (and is good at walking at snow) and was fine. If I went up again I might wear a shoe with bigger lugs but I wouldn't bring spikes.

This is looking back towards the Culp Bossier from Better than Love. In hindsight we did have to scramble the moat a little bit, so maybe spikes wouldn't be unwarranted (though certainly not required).

was the rockn and/or descent dry?

Rock was 95% dry, a few drips in some places and then the very top cruxy bit of BtL was sopping wet. Descent totally good!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
