I bit the bullet. I'll report back once I've used it a bit. |

Don't try and save money with off brand shyte built by slave labor. Spend your time and money on a quality brushless drill, you just gotta hunt for deals. Bosch refurbished or Dewalt. Trust me, I've fought hobos for cans to recycle for 5cents so no one knows the value of a dirt-bag dollar better. The best money you will ever spend in this game is on a quality drill. They get more holes per battery hour, they don't let you down halfway up something you just humped 50#s of shit in to work on, they are trusted partners. In this highly competitive segment there is no free lunch, If its cheap, its made cheap. Best of luck. |

Bolted a short sport route last weekend with this drill. Put in five 1/2"x6" and two 1/2"x8" (don't ask) in limestone. With the 5ah battery I still had 2/3 charge left. Was maybe a bit slower than my buddy's Milwaukee that I usually borrow but not a meaningful difference. The thing feels well built and with the $20 2-year replacement plan I feel good about what I got for the price. I'll report back when it craps out. |

If it’s any help, I picked up a used Dewalt off Facebook marketplace, 2 badass batteries and a charger for $180. I’ve been very pleased with the purchase so far. |

This drill is now $69 at Harbor Freight. I bought one a year ago just for the hell of it to see how it would work. The drill is now my go to drill that beats out my Bosch and Makita. Paired with the 5amp hour battery its a beast. Yesterday I got 28 3/8 x 3" easily with one battery in quartz monzonite. You can also get two 5 amp hour batteries for $79 right now at HF. |

I have no experience with it but it's worth mentioning that Bauer's new 20v 1 inch rotary hammer is on sale for $90 and you get a charger and 5 amp hour better for free of someone is looking for a heavier dutier drill for cheap. |

Dan Wwrote: This one is a bit heavy to climb with and not suitable for harder rock. I tried it in quartzite and it took several minutes and a lot of battery to drill a single 1/2" hole. It would be fine in softer rock though. |

Andrew Jacksonwrote: Andrew, have you tried the one Kevin originally linked to: https://cdn2.apstatic.com/forum/276986.jpg I've got two of them and they perform very well in anything I've tried thus far (including gneiss that's probably as hard as that Piedmont quartzite). Can't beat the value. I think I turned some of the other CCC peeps onto this one a while back. Hope all is well! |

nbrownwrote: I haven't tried that model yet, but I likely will when my Bosch compact decides to quit. I purchased the Bauer for rental property work hoping it would be helpful with a lot of the trail work we do as well. That means drilling 3/4" holes to split rock for stone steps, it's not efficient enough to handle that job. In the end, I found an 18 volt Bosch at Lowe's Outlet that is a beast of a drill, capable of handling anything I throw at it. All is great here in the piedmont, I hope all is well with you! |
