Back to Tom… Thousands of people singing the lyrics to your song must be a pretty good feeling. And Tom was clearly feeling pretty good on this particular evening |

People don't like competition, Russ has a forum that will just gain popularity because of this. His filter was just fine and tame enough, certainly better content than posting "I" 50 times a day. What's his forum's name again? I'll join |

For the most part the people there are petty and stupid and just want to spew garbage. As much as I like Russ, and have for many, many years, his site is not for me. Now Russ on the other hand, is certainly one of the funniest people in the entire world. Too bad the world has gotten so touchy and isn't in a state to enjoy him in public. Far sadder for the world than it is for Russ. |

Mountain Project works great for climbing and climb related topics such as training. Where else can we discuss whatever fancies us then out of the blue, gain climbing insights next post. I hope Russ returns too. Hate to see him only on “Fetish” sites. Who knows where that’ll take him. Even he needs to be “grounded” by a site such as this. |

Lori, I couldn’t imagine a video consult with a doctor unless I couldn’t physically get to one due to incapacity or distance. I go to a doctor maybe once a year, generally due to the death of a celebrity. You’re wondering why I’d go to a doctor when a celebrity dies aren’t you? Generally o google their cause of death and convince myself I have the sage thing. Doesn’t matter if the cause of death is cancer of the womb or dying during childbirth I’ll have the symptoms. I get annoyed where my doctor doesn’t touch me. They should at least feel my pulse, they’re more fixated on what list of medications their computer is going to suggest than me as a person. The route at the gym I got second go which was ungraded has been given a 22 rather than the 21 I thought it was. I won’t argue with that. Led a pumpy long roof 18 last night at the gym as well as repeating the 22 and some other stuff. Out this Morning to TR a 16 and 21. Looking forwards to Araps in 14 days for three weeks. |

Don't Google Wide Fetish trying to find his site.. you don't need those kinds of cookies in your computer.. |

As much as Russ could be a jerk online, he’s a really good guy IRL. He gifted me the best gear sling ever just for giving some very small PT advice. It was unexpected and really sweet of him. I also find him hilarious. I am guessing he doesn’t care that much about being banned from MP. His life is pretty full without this stuff. We will probably miss him more than he’ll miss us! |

A beautiful little formation. I still don’t know if there is anything here for me. I know Kris climbed something pretty cool. These legs were moving. Ugh. |

I've been convinced for years that if Russ had found his way into standup comedy he'd be world famous. I spent an afternoon at Russ and Sooze house with Jan and my abs hurt for days from laughing. FWIW mentioning Supertopo and MP in the same breath is blasphemy I say! Edit. Where is that, Lori? |

Kris, I've been at Russ' house and had to get up from the table and walk out back to stop laughing so the cramps would go away. Only thing funnier than Russ would be Russ and Too Strong in the same place at the same time. |

MP banning Russ is a terrible shame. I have never understood the reasoning behind banning a real person- who is using thier real name- and not hiding behind some made up BS avatar. RIP MP |

^^^ +1 What Guy, Jan and Kris said. Apparently, some snowflakes here flagged him 5 times in the last year, then poof... gone. |

Kris, it's the Dakota Domes, South face. I've been writing back and forth with Russ. He shared the letters from the MP mod. I thought the mod was just looking for an apology... my advice is just give it to him! Apologize! Get yourself back in the fold. I cannot repeat Russ' response,. Let's just say I don't think we have movement towards reconciliation. Oh, god... I'm still choking with laughter. And this I will miss. This situation is calling up my own personal anger/rage at how IMPOSSIBLE it is not to offend virtually everyone these days. God forbid you are someone like Russ who is committed to speaking his truth, no holds. We have some sensitivities here, on this over 50 thread, but I cannot imagine just blasting away on your average MP thread and letting the chips fall where they may. It wouldn't take much to offend many. Russ could do it in a day. I'm seeing it everywhere, and it's suffocating. Whether it's redacted route names because the name MIGHT offend someone, or our mandatory signage around Joshua Tree to make sure everyone feels loved and included. Interestingly, if I differ in opinion with any of our locals, I am suddenly NOT loved and included. We have 'hate free' zones here. I could write pages. I'm not sure what we can do from this thread... perhaps gather up the posts already so eloquently written and forward them to the moderators? (whoever they are, wherever). But my sense is it would do little good without some mea culpas from Russ. And I don't think that's gonna happen quite yet. |

I got the ol' bootola off of Supertopo once. I forget how I found this out, but another poster , who had been on ST since the start and was apparently cherished by the owner, and many others , threatened to quit and take all his posts with him if I were not banished forthright. I had never said anything nasty to anyone -- it was purely on ideological grounds that I was found intolerable. I never received a warning, nor an explanation. It was an ominous foreboding of the cancel culture that would in due course rear its ugly head. |
