Haven’t been down to Kentucky in a long time, what’s the current best guidebooks(s)?

The Red, 2nd edition is the newest, most comprehensive for sport climbing.

Awesome, I’ll get that. What about for trad climbing? Would that be red river gorge north and south by Ellington?

Red River Gorge North ( I think 2015th is the latest one) will cover all the trad climbing in the northern gorge. You don't need to get a separate guidebook for trad climbing in the south. The Red that  I mentioned in my first response would have the trad climbs listed if they happen to be in those primarily-sport crags.
