Hey I'm just wondering if anyone has experience with this problem. I bought the skins used several years ago in decent condition and used them quite a bit over the last 2-3 season. Now the glue has started to clump up and essentially has become unusable. Went out today in -15C and couldn't even make it 100meters. I've never been good about taking care of them, nothing special ever done to care, other than at the end of last season using the cleaning kit on them. Apparently it didn't help so much, i've used them twice this year so far and now its just hopeless. I wonder if I can try the iron trick to warm the glue and redistribute it or if its even possible to reglue them. However I haven't found anything online to help much. Can anyone shed some light on the issue. Thanks in advance.
Glue that old is probably toast. You can try to refresh the glue but it can be pretty pointless if there’s not a lot of glue left to work with, or it’s too contaminated with dirt/water. I would think to reglue both skins tbh. BD or contour glue is good, the g3 stuff is meh. Skin care is really mostly hanging them up to dry and having a beater pair for dirty springtime skiing.
ya thought so. but can any glue work on any skin base? these atomic hybrids seem different. maybe i get new ones and just use these as the beaters for spring
