L-R: Tofana di Dentro, Cima Tofana di Mezzo, Tofana di Rozes. I climbed the classic Eotvos/Dimai on the South Face of the Rozes many years ago. Great memories, Bellisime Dolomiti! |

Rockfellow group? Headed that way next weekend so it's on the brain. |

Technically it’s Rockfellow Dome but you got it. I’m limited to just a handful of pics on my phone and don’t have access to my full library, such a bummer! Have a blast at the Stronghold. |

Didn't specify which formation to name, so I named the cluster thanks! I'm looking forward to the trip - it'll be my first time out there. Hint: this one's not been climbed legally since the cold war.Edit: Nope, not Tooth of Time. Good guess though. |

Tooth of Time? |

Indeed. San Augustin Peak is just across the San Augustin Pass from the Organ Mountains in New Mexico, but is on the property of the White Sands Missile Range. Unfortunate, too, as there's apparently great climbing on the granite prow visible in the photo above, and it would be some of the most easily-accessible climbing in the Organs if it weren't closed. My hope is that one day some of that side of the pass is opened to public recreation, but it'd probably end up like the Castner Range 40 miles south, where an extensive search for unexploded munitions would be necessary before access is granted to the public. |
