I'm considering picking up the Airliner as my 80m rope, but am wondering if anyone has experience with it, especially if you are a bigger climber. I'm ~190# w/out my gear, so pushing 200# when racked up for long route, and am wondering if I should expect a lot more stretch/bigger falls since it is a 9.1mm rope, and curious about it's durability. I had a 60m, 9.1 from Bluewater, but didn't actually climb on it much before it was stolen, and my regular rope is a 9.5 Maxim Pinnacle which I love. There is an 80m Pinnacle, but I'm trying to purchase through ExpertVoice and they only have the same color/pattern that my 70m is, and I don't really want the same rope in two different lengths.
If you have a different 80m rope you like, open to suggestions, also. I do want it to be a bi-pattern. I've been climbing on a bi-pattern the past couple of years and I really can't imagine going back to a single color rope with middle marks, even if it saves a little money.
Since no one else has responded with more experience with it, I've had the airliner about 2 years, I don't climb hard though and take care of my stuff, i have a different dedicated sport rope.
I'm 185lbs and it stretches a lot more than my 9.8 single, it's a triple rated rope but I think the airliner is supposed to be less stretchy than alot of others, people say it's a harder catch. I think it's a good rope and did decent research before buying it, there's threads on here about it. Some people say they're not durable others say they're like steel, mine has done great but I haven't abused it. Feels durable though, it's not a soft rope. Mines not fuzzing yet.
