Thanks for thinking of this thread. I already have that model. Seller is a fair bit overpriced as well. There is one REI carabiner model I do not have that has been on eBay for quite a while. I made a few offers on it but the seller won't budge very much. It's been there for a long time and is not selling because he's asking too much.

Just updated the post with better pictures of the REI biners and an updated pic of the EMS biners as I scored a new EMS locker today (a very unwieldy design).

Weekend bump. I have one more REI biner on the way.

George, It's a bit hard to tell from your pic - is it different than these two?

The only difference is in the gate coloration.

Do you think the gate on yours has had the anodization removed over time, or is it a separate version?

Good question. At a glance, it looks like blue tape. Its edges are uneven. There’s not a trace of blue elsewhere on the gate. I don’t what would be involved in removing an anodized surface without affecting the remaining aluminum. There’s no evidence of sanding or grinding.

Graham, I do have that one but thanks for checking! George, I think I'll pass on that biner. Seems like too much of a coincidence that the 50th anniversary biner had a blue gate and yours has a partially-blue gate. Thanks though, I appreciate it.

I just took and uploaded new photos of all the biners I have which show a few new additions.

It’s been a while since I’ve added a new biner to the collection. Bump.
