Thanks very much for taking a look for REI biners for me. I already have several of that particular biner. Anyone else have some REI biners hiding out in their spare biner bins?

Received two more additions today. Take a look at these three gold-gate REI biners. At first glance they all look identical. Upon closer examination all have different dates of manufacture and slightly different gate colors. Perhaps more interestingly, the kn rating for end-to-end was changed from 21 to 24 and the kn rating for when the gate is open was “rounded up” from 6.6kn on the earlier biner to 7kn on the later biners, even though they are the same biner. An interesting bit of REI biner history.

I do have both of the above biners already, but thanks to both of you for digging out your REI biners and posting! Menno, I sent you a PM though and have not heard back.

I'm looking for versions I do not already have. That said, there seem to be a number of very subtle variations, so feel free to post pictures of the ones you have. Not interested in the harness, just biners. Thanks for the response.

REI Auto lock with the offset gate and Liberty Mountain?

ClimbingOn · · Unknown Hometown · Joined Aug 2008 · Points: 0

Dan, I believe I already have that autolocker. Not interested in the Liberty Mountain. However, what hammer is that peaking out in the top right of your second photo? Any chance it’s an A5?

It's a 5lb green sledge hammer I call the hulk. From a Hardware store.

I have an oval that’s either REI or MSR (possibly made by MSR for REI?) which I don’t see any of in your pictures
