Climbing since 2015, mostly trad. After witnessing a fatal 800 foot fall, losing friends and acquaintances over the years, and seeing so many capable climbers succumb to the mountains, I actually have begun to question if any of it is actually worth it.

Happy Bumper Sticker Day! Now if you can connect me to the UP Customer Service department, I'd like to request a refund for those 90+ temps this past weekend. The Sturgeon didn't even feel cold.

As a climber you are bound to witness some carnage, don’t fret, you get used to it. Stick with climbing, it IS worth it!

What is "traditoinal" and what is "dangeours"? These are new words for me.

I got off route in the valley today and by the time I realized this was not a 5.5 crack but was in fact at least 5.9 OW I was run out on marginal gear. One piece held, the upper one didn't. Took an inverted thirty footer; foot caught on the rock somehow.

If I can do something that profoundly stupid and just have some scratches, a broken phone screen, and a damaged camelback that sent three liters of water down my leg, then I think trad is pretty safe, actually.

You'll be relieved to know that not a single climber has accepted the Challenge, proving unequivocally, that everyone has indeed, "Stopped doing it." ;-)

So it was sticky as well. You're not really selling the 'water' angle.

Or.... you could say that "three liters" of sticky, puts him in a whole separate level. I mean, it all depends on WHAT, he is selling. : -)
