Thoughts on fixed cams

What are some thoughts on hopelessly stuck cams. The ones I'm thinking of are damaged beyond repair in situ.

Leave them to be used like bolts until they become a safety hazard or remove them to open the placement for hardware or fingers? I suppose the question would apply to fixed nuts also.

I think some of them could be driven into wider sections of the crack with a hammer and punch. A hacksaw blade might be enough in some cases.

Hammer and a solid funkness cable will do wonders. Sawzall for tougher candidates. Long handled screw driver (or equivalent) and hammer for hard to reach point=specific pounding.

Just some tools in the kit really, whatever you have.

Please don't.  A fixed cam deep in the crack is no better than any other fixed cam. Either remove it, if you have the skills, or leave it for someone who does.

I know not to do that.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.

Fixed Hardware: Bolts & Anchors
